At Lighthouse Lacrosse your child’s safety is our first priority. Parents can rest assure their children will be in good hands and know that Lighthouse is doing everything in their power to make the camp as safe as possible. On hand will be an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Heat Index Monitor, certified athletic trainers, as well as water and ice.

Lighthouse Lacrosse will be donating a portion of the camp proceeds to the Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation. The Foundation's mission is to prevent commotio cordis, and it's success stories are directly attributable to the generous donations from our supporters. The Foundations efforts are focused along several paths. The first is awareness of the need for AEDs, particularly where our children spend most of their time - in the schools, the second is the the implementation of public access defibrillation programs, the third is training of individuals in CPR and the use of an AED, and the fourth is research, which will ultimately develop chest protection to protect against sudden cardiac arrest in young athletes. If you would like to learn more about the Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation or would like to make a donation, please visit www.LA12.org.
MORNING SESSION: Players will be divided into appropriate divisions
according to their position, skill, and age.
The morning session will concentrate on the fundamentals,
individual skills, positioning, field spacing
and transitional play.
(Dodging, feeding, shooting, ground balls, takeaway
checks, face-offs, stick protection, 1-1 defense,
etc.)
LUNCH: Lunch will NOT be provided for the campers. Please ensure
each camper brings their own lunch in a cooler with their name
clearly labeled on it. However, Borrelli’s pizza, soda/water and
Ralph’s Italian ices will be provided the LAST DAY of camp.
AFTERNOON SESSION: The afternoon
session will be a continuation of comprehensive
instruction with the emphasis on players showcasing
the skills learned during the morning session in
full field play providing the staff with the opportunity
to evaluate, critique, and make recommendations.

STRINGING SESSION: Too
few players have the ability to properly string
or understand how to adjust the way their stick
throws; therefore, Lighthouse Lacrosse offers its
campers thorough stringing lessons throughout the
4 days of camp.
Players will be supplied with
an unstrung head and mesh kit. They
will learn how to string their own stick by some
of the best stringers on Long Island. Players will
also learn how to maintain and repair their current
sticks as well.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING: James Brown-Hernandez will demonstrate and conduct
creative strength and conditioning exercises specially
designed for lacrosse. James’ sessions will
bring insight on developing an edge for the upcoming
season by instilling motivation and guidance through
what he calls “Peak Endurance.” This
is a sports specific mindset that concentrates
on increasing stabilization, strength, agility,
and speed.
Q & A SESSION WITH A CERTIFIED NCAA OFFICIAL: A NCAA certified Boys Official will discuss and educate campers on the rules of the game as they pertain to their age as well as review the importance of Sportsmanship. Campers will be able to have all of their questions directly answered by the people who know the rules the best.
