LIGHTHOUSE
LACROSSE focuses on teaching
fundamentals of the game and introducing important
life lessons to help young players develop
strong lacrosse skills while developing good
character. Through positive reinforcement and
motivation, campers learn lacrosse skills and key
concepts while they compete in fun contests and
participate in dynamic drills.
No experience is necessary to attend camp.
Players are grouped by gender, age, position and
skill. Each camper will be provided with individual
instruction that will improve his or her skill level.
Lighthouse Lacrosse has a proven curriculum that
guarantees improvement and a whole lot of fun!
At Lighthouse Lacrosse Camp, young players are
encouraged to work as a team as they are exposed
to key skills and qualities that will help them improve
and develop a love for lacrosse. Lighthouse
Lacrosse combines structured lacrosse instruction
with valuable life lessons to help young players
learn the basics of the game, while being exposed
to essential qualities that will inspire them to
become better lacrosse players and stronger individuals.
What your son will learn on
the field will translate into life success as well as
the inspiration to take their game to the next level!
Each summer has provided new faces and new
opportunities for us as a staff. Words cannot
explain how much fun it is for our staff to watch
campers grow both as individuals and as lacrosse
players in the short amount of time we have them
at camp. As we prepare for our fourth summer
season, Lighthouse Lacrosse would like to invite
you to join us in making Lighthouse Lacrosse the
best Lacrosse camp on Long Island!

MORNING
SESSION: Players will
be divided into appropriate divisions
according to their position, skill,
and age. The morning session will
concentrate on the fundamentals,
individual skills, positioning, field
spacing and transitional play. (Dodging,
feeding, shooting, ground balls,
takeaway checks, face-offs, stick
protection, 1-1 defense, etc.)
AFTERNOON
SESSION: The afternoon session will be a continuation of comprehensive instruction with emphasis on players showcasing the skills learned during the morning session in full field play, which will allow the staff to evaluate, critique, and make recommendations.
CAMP EXTRAS
STRINGING SESSION – (FULL DAY BOYS ONLY)
Far too few players have the ability to properly string or adjust the way their stick throws. Lighthouse Lacrosse offers its campers detailed stringing lessons throughout the 4 days of camp.
Players will be supplied with a Reebok 6K ($65 value) unstrung head and mesh kit (included in camp price). They will learn how to string, repair, and maintain their stick by some of the best stringers on Long Island.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
Creative strength and condition exercises that are
specifically designed for lacrosse. The sessions will
focus on developing an edge by instilling motivation and
guidance through “Peak Endurance”, a sports-specific
mind-set that concentrates on increasing stabilization,
strength, agility, and speed.
Q&A SESSION WITH AN NCAA OFFICIAL:
A
NCAA certified Girls Official will
discuss and educate campers on the
rules of the game as they pertain to
their age as well as review the importance
of Sportsmanship. Campers will
be able to have all of their questions
directly answered by the people who
know the rules the best. |

At Lighthouse Lacrosse
your child’s safety is our first
priority. Parents can rest assure their
children will be in good hands and know
that Lighthouse is doing everything in
their power to make the camp as safe
as possible. On hand will be an Automated
External Defibrillator (AED), Heat Index
Monitor, certified athletic trainers,
as well as water and ice.
Lighthouse Lacrosse
will be donating a portion of the camp
proceeds to the Louis J. Acompora Memorial
Foundation. The Foundation's mission is
to prevent commotio cordis, and it's success
stories are directly attributable to the
generous donations from our supporters.
The Foundations efforts are focused along
several paths. The first is awareness of
the need for AEDs, particularly where our
children spend most of their time - in
the schools, the second is the the implementation
of public access defibrillation programs,
the third is training of individuals in
CPR and the use of an AED, and the fourth
is research, which will ultimately develop
chest protection to protect against sudden
cardiac arrest in young athletes.

Memorial Foundation or would like to make
